High Park will soon have a new church conversion. A beautiful church, in existence since 1885, together with its Sunday school, will be converted into 38 loft units. Most of these units will have private outdoor space. flats and two-storey units will range in size from about 600 to 1,800 sq.ft. The only issue that will be hardt, if not impossible to resolve, is the fact that curch conversions are extremely difficult due to the structure of such buildings, heavy outside walls and a small number of extremely large windows. In contrast to factories, which are ideally suited for residential conversions, only a small number of churches have been converted successfully.
The location is excellent, close to shopping, restaurants, library and schools, and with an easy access to the subway. The residential neighbourhood offers quiet, treed streets, and High Park is within an easy bike ride.
