Merchandise Lofts
135 and 155 Dalhousie Street

Merchandise Lofts is a massive development with 450 loft suites ranging in size from about 450 to over 2500 sq. ft. The original Sears warehouse was built in 1930. The conversion, designed by Yabu-Pushelberg team, with Brian Gluckstein, Cecconi Simone, Norma King and Paul Northgrave, was done in 1999.

Lofts feature 12 to 14-foot exposed concrete ceilings, polished concrete or hardwood floors, and massive fluted columns. Huge solid wood sliding doors provide flexible floor plan for smaller units. Larger units have very interesting layouts.

Maintenance fees are high in this complex, at about $0.46/sq.ft. without covering any of the utilities, but the facilities are amazing, with 24-hour concierge, outdoor pool, party room, basketball court, fitness facilities, guest suites, and common terraces.

82 sales have been recorded since January 2006, all of them in 155 Dalhousie. They range from $177,000 for a 550 sq. ft. studio without parking to $571,500 for a 1787 sq. ft. corner loft with a fireplace and parking.
